Sport Capital Group’s management and board have a wealth of experience in the investment sector and corporate finance. They have a long and diverse track record in investing in and managing investment vehicles, AIM and NEX companies, across a diverse range of businesses.
The Board is comprised of John Treacy and Simon Grant-Rennick.
John Treacy – Non-Executive Director
John Treacy (37), a British national, is a London-based experienced small cap financier who specialises in working with growing companies. He qualified as a solicitor in the London office of a major international law firm where he specialised in capital markets and mergers & acquisitions. From there he moved to practice corporate finance in the advisory teams of several prominent UK brokerages where he acted as an adviser to a number of AIM companies and advised on numerous IPOs, acquisitions, debt restructurings and placings. He is a director of Eight Capital Partners plc, which is holds 22.78% of Sport Capital Group plc.
Simon Grant-Rennick – Chairman
Simon Grant-Rennick is the chairman of Sport Capital Group plc. He is a British national and graduate of what is now a faculty of The University of Exeter. He has a background in mining, base metals trading and real property and has been involved with private companies in the UK, Bermuda, North America and Africa. He has been a base metal concentrates consultant/ trader on behalf of several public and private companies. Until 2018, he was chairman of Black Mountain Resources Limited, listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
Simon presently holds interests in a number of mining companies and agri-businesses in Africa and North America. He is either chairman or a board member of several private African mining companies. He co-founded Industrial Mineral Finance House, which provides consultancy services covering all aspects of the industrial minerals sector. His real property interests range across different segments of the sector.
